Detectives from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office are investigating an attempted armed robbery which occurred on Friday, February 24th in the area of South Wabash Avenue and Patterson Street in Lakeland.

The victim said the unknown suspect approached him and demanded money while pointing a firearm at him. 

An approaching vehicle’s headlights shined on the suspect’s face and the suspect and victim both ran from the area.

The suspect was described as a black male, about 5’3” or 5’4”, with a slender build. 

He was wearing dark pants and a black hoodie with the draw string pulled tight around his face.
