The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a trailer theft that occurred near First Street NW in unincorporated Lakeland.

The theft happened on Friday, June 17th at around 4:00 a.m. While the video isn’t the best, you can see an unknown person driving into the neighborhood and then backing the vehicle up to the trailer. Later that day, detectives received a tip that around 8:00 a.m. that same morning, a white Dodge Ram pick-up truck was seen near Silver Springs in Ocala pulling the trailer.

The trailer is an 8.5’ x 18’ black double axel utility trailer that has been modified as a camper. Inside the trailer are cabinets, a Murphy bed, a generator, and other camping equipment.
