Some car burglaries have been reported during September in the Lake Gibson area of Lakeland.

Investigators from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office have obtained security video showing one burglary as it occurred on September 17th, at about 7:30 pm, in the parking lot of Lake Gibson Church of the Nazarene (6868 Socrum Loop Road). 

The video showed two individuals walking alongside Pearce Avenue (at the church). The two pass by the row of parked cars, and the person in red turns back and burgles an unlocked SUV. 

Earlier in the month, car burglaries were reported just south of the church, on a street named Padgett Place. Investigators obtained low-quality, black & white security video which showed a suspect.
