The Polk County Sheriff's Office is investigating a theft by deception that occurred at the Dollar General store in north Lakeland.

The tactic is designed to be carried out quickly with the intent to confuse the sales clerk, and in this situation, the suspect was successful with his ruse. 

Detective Peffer is trying to identify the male and female in these photographs, to speak to them about this case.
